Use the PFAFF foot to assemble and fold borders with different techniques, such as lace, embroidered borders or various fabrics. Use PFAFF®'s beautiful 9mm stitches to create stunning borders. Make lingerie in the blink of an eye, add lace to create stunning handkerchiefs or delicate table toppers. This foot easily guides the border and base fabric through the openings on the front of the foot, fold the base fabric and simultaneously stitch the border into place.

How to use the Join and Fold Edging Foot with IDT:

1. Thread your machine with regular or fancy sewing thread in the needle and regular sewing thread in the bobbin.

2. Select the stitch you want to use. For example: the border can be sewn to the base fabric using a straight stitch and a 4mm twin needle or a wide right aligned decorative stitch.
   
   Note: Satin stitches that use the forward motion work best.
   (Avoid stitches involving too much backward movement).
   

3. Fold a 6mm (¼”) hem of base fabric to the wrong side, press with fingers or iron.

4. Insert the folded edge of the base fabric with right side up into the left fabric guide and the border (right side up) into the right fabric guide, then slide the folded fabric edge and border in the foot, before attaching to the sewing machine.

5. Make sure the base fabric and trim slide easily through the openings.
   
   Note: You will achieve the best results with light but stable fabrics and borders
   

6. Attach the stitching and folding foot to the sewing machine.

7. Engage the IDT™ system.

8. Sew carefully, without going too quickly. If your machine has a speed control, reduce the speed to make the fabric and border slide easily while sewing. Hold the fabric with your left hand and the edge with your right hand and sew.
